Look at me

Things I learned this week:
  • Don Draper likes to sleep alone because when he turns to the other side of the bed in the night it's cold and feels shockingly nice.
  • When I'm visiting my home state I miss my current home state. It's a settling feeling.
  • Sometimes "moving on" really means just coming to peace with the way you feel
  • Peace comes from adaptation.

things my friends know about me

1. when signing my name, I still dot the 'i' with a heart

2. i. hate. spoons.

3. if you ask one of my siblings who the most annoying person they know is, they will say, in unison, Elyse Dial.

4. the first 90 minutes I'm awake in the day, I am chatty and excited and joyful. After those 90 minutes, my mood is a high stakes game of Roulette.

5. my kryptonites are tall men and expensive jewerly. Even better, Tall men delivering Expensive jewerly

you know you love me, xoxo

Have i said too much?

at least twice a week when i am wrapping up a conversation i say, "sorry, that was an over share." not cute.

Shopping at Ikea and Forever 21 stresses me out. So many options. I would rather go to Neimans or Z Gallerie but unfortunately my time is not valuable enough to justify those stores.

if i know people's secrets, it makes it a lot easier for me to forgive them of their follies.

Thinking

About my rental car
My narcissism
My yoga habit
My sleeping patterns
My mother and brothers and sisters and father
My year

I hope my car takes months to fix because Drake bumps better in a Charger than a minivan.
It's a problem.
I will never quit. I love what it's doing for my body and my mind.
Again, a problem. I need a roommate to wake up and entertain me.
We are all in this together. We are so blessed.
Career. Love. Family. City. Travel. Extremely optimistic.

Spotlight

Sometimes my body shrinks even when my diet consists of only chocolate.

I love wearing leather.

Despite my repetitive overuse of the word Love, it scares me.

There are places in the world you have never heard of that I would like to visit. Christmas Island, is the least outrageous.

The only thing fake about me is my eyelashes.

Week highlights

1. Best news ever is seeing my family on Christmas and seeing the orphans on the 26th. Going to be a good Holiday.2. It's been a good music week. Ciara's new album came out. Ciara is awesome. She is equal parts hoodrich and classy. She wears J's and Chanel. She is hot and hangs out with the likes of Jeezy and Kanye. I will admit I purchased the cd on it's opening day and had my favorite songs picked out in less than an hour. I was also reminded of my love for Feist (The Limit To Your Love) and old school Ingrid Michaelson (Let Go is on repeat) Last but not least Jamie Foxx ft. Drake Fall for Your Type. The song is good, the video is better. Especially Drake's part (of course I'm partial). 3.Work. Is. Good. Great. Better. Best. 4.Got a message from a friend (shoutout!) saying that she has been "stalking me religiously" on facebook, twitter, and my blog and could not figure out where I am or what I'm doing. Boy, was I relieved. I have severe identidy crisis when people know things about me, so the greatest news is that, despite my months a intense vulnerability to the world, I still maintain a bit of mystery.

Of course Thursday was the best day of the week, as always. And, it's pretty early, but Friday is shaping up to be pretty great too.

Thankful Wednesday

-Michael Buble.
-Finishing the New York Times crossword for the first time in my life. Yes I am one of those outdated people who still reads the newspaper and lives for Ken Ken and the Crossword. You laugh now but when you retire and don't know how to act like a 70-year-old you'll come crying for advice.
-College graduation is around the corner plus 7 months.
-On Saturday I start working out with my personal trainer for three weeks. The goals is to look like Dara Torres at the end.
-As if I need another reason to love my new car, it totally kicks butt in the cold. Warms up completely in about 45 seconds. So thankful.
-Purple tights.
-Jay-Z and Kyria. Who on Saturday will be one in the same.
-PAM JOHNSON'S MAGIC HANDS.
-The best solution to any problem being found on my knees.
-New Moon. Perspective. Seriously, at least my blood sucking soul mate didn't leave me alone in a town with no department stores.

This couldn't wait-

Because of my recent daily traveling and my 2001 cd and cassestte-less work truck, I have the not so pleasant experience of listening to the radio. All. Day. I don't know what I did pre- iPod, I really don't. This adventure has inspired me to create one of my infamous lists.

Top 6 Worst, Most Annoying, Most Redundant Songs On The Radio

1. HALO by Beyonce. Kyria is going to kill me for this one but seriously it is not even up to par with ANY of Beyonce's songs
2. BOOM BOOM POW by Bep's. I tolerate it because Nikka likes it and I support Fergie. Other than that- gross.
3. KISS ME THROUGH THE PHONE- Sweet beat. That's it. I feel like a nerd listening to it. I feel like an even bigger nerd when it is stuck in my head because it is a ridiculous.
4. P-P-POKER-FACE-P-O-OKER FACE.
5. SOMETHING STUPID by Miley Cyrus. I don't even know the name of the song. All I know is she performed it on the CMA's and I haven't stopped hating it.
6. BIRTHDAY SEX by Jeremiah. Jeremiah came to San Antonio and Austin last weekend and so to promote this event, his song was blowing up the radio. It's title alone is why people have a bad perception of hip-hop.

Spotlight

I can count on my 3 fingers the amount of times I have cried from television, and even then I don't know if it counts because most of the time I watch television to keep from crying and those three times it didn't work. So the tears either came from the Katie/huble breakup or the horrible life experience

Very often I dress up for school like it's a fashion show because I can't find a reason not to.

My friends find it weird that I haven't put any thought into my dream wedding. Actually, I have put thought, one thought: ELOPE.

I dream about being younger and I dream about being older but I don't dream about being here. Who does?

There's no way to swing it, Sourkraut is a STRANGE food.

I want for people to know how I feel but I am afraid to voice it.

I have HATED Blue's Clues since the beginning of that dumb cracked out homosexual running around singing redundant songs about Crack and San Francisco.

I would rather be over accessorized than the opposite.

Barack Obama is the man. It's possible that I'm single because I only have eyes for 1 man. And guess what? He's liberal. And guess what? He rocks America corrupted and debt-ridden socks off.

just a few things

  1. i love mentha lip gloss. especially the spearmint that always disappears when kyria is in town
  2. i love to shop. and when i run out of room in my closet or i can't justify a purchase, i just shop for other people. nikka usually benefits.
  3. i rip the tags off of bed linens, pillows, and comforters. i can't stand the thought of there being a tag on something in my bed.
  4. my favorite adult food is Sushi. i say adult food because i feel like it's an adult food and i feel like an adult when i eat it. also, my love for sushi has grown as i have become older, therefore i think it is an adult food. in comparison, childish foods are things like wendy's, taco bell, and pizza. i used to like all of these but now i only crave Sushi and Chipotle (another adult food).
  5. i say this about nearly every cd but i REALLY, HONESTLY think that A Rush Of Blood To The Head by Coldplay is the best album ever made. i don't even listen to it anymore but i think you'd be lying if you said it didn't fill some void in your life at one point.

it's been a good week

Highlights

1.) Discovered The Houston Galleria. Picture this, the Forum Shops at Cesar's Palace - prostitutes + NORDSTROM .
2.) I found a Juicy Couture Outlet. I don't think you understand how much these two words shouldn't go together, but they do, and it was amazing.
3.) While at the outlet mall with the aforementioned Juicy store I found a True Religion outlet. Rodney and I have already planned a trip there when he comes back in December. We have chosen to not talk about the plane trip and the three hour drive that getting to our paradise will entail, we've only dwelt on the positives, like the fact that it's a True Religion OUTLET!!
4.) While at The Galleria, the boy and I managed to spend $40 on candy at Dylan's Candy Bar. Now, I thought that spending over $10 on refined sugar was a talent only Dials were born with, but clearly he picked that up somewhere along the way. The other highlight of this endeavour was that all the candy was gone within 24 hours.
5.) Spent a good amount of time with the oldest 4 Dial children. If I had to make a pie chart outlining how our time was divided, the categories would be trying on jeans, sitting at Del Taco, eating frozen yogurt, and dancing. Oh and dancing on tables would take up a small percentage of one very strange evening that I hope was not photographed.

Another post prompted by Sonic

Here I am in my hotel room eating a banana pie shake (because they advertised for them on The Hills. I buy into consumerism), listening to Cute Is What We Aim For (navigate me through your body, duh), waiting for my phone call (it always comes), happy as a little school girl. Other news of the day 1.) got my hotel room free- proof that talking a lot really does get you places in life, 2.) love my job, 3.) love not selling pest control, 4.) kind of miss selling pest control. Ok... I know... but I was just so good at it! 5.) I'm in a really good mood, probably because of this banana pie shake. Seriously it is the best thing I've eaten all week, which isn't saying much cause it's Monday, but ask me on friday and I'm sure it'll be the same story, unless of course I get a caramel apple from Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory between now and then in which case this shake will be the second best thing I've eaten all week, 6.) Dial girls will all be back together this weekend, 7.) I bought Sense and Sensibility!, 8.) WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR TOMORRROW?!?!, 9.) I haven't been on facebook in a while? 10.) did you hear I don't shop anymore? This is BIG news, it's like making headlines. How long will it last? I don't know. Probably only for tonight because my Internet isn't working enough for a proper nordstrom.com connection.

You know you love me. xoxo.
